The L.A. Super-8 film group is going to be shooting an S8-sound synched film soon (mid-April). I have a question for filmmakers who have used a crystal-synched camera. If you had the choice between a Beaulieu 6008 and a Canon 1014-XLS which would you choose in terms of camera noise ONLY? Or would I need to blimp/barney either one?
thanks,
Chas

i seem to remember that they produce about the same amount of noise. you'll have to blimp them both indoors, but they'll both be pretty much ok as they are outdoors. i've done quite a lot of sync sound filming with my canon 814e, which is quite a bit noisier than the 1014xls, and even that works fine outdoors if you're at least ten feet away and have a good boom person...
